Dehumidifiers can be used in a large number of applications, but the dehumidifier has to have appropriate power to fulfill its purpose. Read about ways to select the right dehumidifier and use the efficiency calculator we developed for you.
APPLICATION: The required capacity of the dehumidifier (l/24h) is equal to:
Basement: The volume of the room divided by 15 in standard conditions.
Restauration after flood: The volume of the room divided by 6 in standard conditions.
Warehouse with food (cheese, fruit): The volume of the room divided by 10 plus the loss of water from the food.
Swimming pool or jacuzzi: The volume of the room divided by 10 plus 0,4 litres of water per m2 of the swimming pool per day.
Room with many people: The volume of the room divided by 15 plus 4,4 litres of water per person per 24h.
Room with large animals: The volume of the room divided by 15 plus 6 litres of water per large animal per 24h.
Example BASEMENT
Volume of the room V = 650 m3
Recommended dehumidifier’s capacity: 650:15 = 41 l/24h
You can choose: DH 752 or DH 44
Example RESTAURATION AFTER FLOOD
Volume of the room V = 150 m3
Recommended dehumidifier’s capacity: 150:6 = 25 l/24h
You can choose: DH 732 or DH 26
Example SWIMMING POOL
Area of the swimming pool A = 250 m2
Volume of the room V = 2800 m3
Recommended dehumidifier’s capacity with closed windows:
2800:10 + 0,4*250 = 380 l/24h
You can choose: 4 units of DH 92, 4 units of DH 772 or 2 units of DH 7160
With a proper ventilation with the outside you can reduce
the number of dehumidifiers required
Example ROOM WITH MANY PEOPLE
Volume of the room V = 600 m3
People = 25
Recommended dehumidifier’s capacity with closed windows:
600:15 + 4,4*25 = 150 l/24h
You can choose: 2 units of DH 92, 2 units of DH 772 or 1 unit DH 7160
With a proper ventilation with the outside you can reduce
the number of dehumidifiers required
